Strawberry Matcha

Matcha! Matcha! Matcha!

If you want long-lasting energy that doesn’t give you the jitters, matcha is your drink.

I love that it gives you energy, doesn’t hurt your stomach like coffee and you can add any flavor to make it different to fit your mood. Hot or cold its a winner.

I have been experimenting with iced matcha because it is starting to get really hot here in AZ. My favorites so far are strawberry and blueberry homemade puree.

This recipe is easy and includes the matcha base that you can add anything to make it fit your taste

Ingredients

1 Tbsp powdered Matcha

1 C Water

1 C Coconut milk, cows milk, or nut milk

1/3 C Fruit Puree (see recipe below)

1 C of Ice

1/4 C Coconut cream or Whipping cream for cold foam.

Fruit Puree

1-2 C frozen berries (strawberry, blueberries) You can also use passionfruit or mango.

2 Tbsp Raw Honey

Place fruit in a saucepan and bring to a simmer and stir. Allow berries to break down and become soft from frozen state. Turn off the heat and add honey. Cool to room temp before using in tea.

Store in a glass container like a small mason jar in the fridge for up to a week, although you will be so addicted to these it won’t last that long!

Directions

In a saucepan add water and matcha powder and whisk. Add coconut milk and whisk until hot.

Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Save extra matcha in a glass container in the fridge for next day.

Place ice inside a tall glass or mason jar

Fill 3/4 way with matcha

Add berry puree.

If you want it creamier you can add additional 1/4 C coconut milk.

Stir until combined or place in a shaker cup and shake it.

Top with cold foam.
